WILLMAR — A Willmar man appeared in Kandiyohi County District Court on felony charges he sexually assaulted a juvenile female multiple times starting in 2018 when she was 11.

Rolando Hernandez Hernandez, 44, is charged with felony first-degree criminal sex conduct — penetration or contact with a person under 13, felony first-degree criminal sex conduct penetration — victim under 16 — significant relationship and felony second-degree criminal sex conduct — significant relationship with a victim under 16.

Eighth Judicial District Judge Jennifer Fischer ordered Hernandez's release on a $150,000 bail or bond with no conditions or a $10,000 bail or bond with conditions including no contact with the alleged victim and staying a reasonable distance away from her residence.

According to the criminal complaint, Hernandez is accused of sexually assaulting the juvenile on multiple occasions starting in 2018, when she was in fifth grade.

The juvenile also told law enforcement about a specific incident on June 9, 2019, when Hernandez forced her into a basement room and sexually assaulted her.

"(The juvenile victim) stated she marked the day in her head and has always remembered it," reads part of the complaint.

Law enforcement was notified of the accusations by Kandiyohi County Family Services after the juvenile told her mother about the abuse during a trip to Mexico.
