Culvert repairs scheduled for area highways

WILLMAR -- Starting Monday, motorists can expect brief delays on area highways as contractors make repairs to culverts during a series of projects that are expected be done by early November.

WILLMAR - Starting Monday, motorists can expect brief delays on area highways as contractors make repairs to culverts during a series of projects that are expected be done by early November.
According to a news release from the state Department of Transportation, the affected roads are state Highways 7, 19 and 67, and U.S. Highways 71 and 212 in Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, Renville, McLeod and Yellow Medicine counties.
Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zones. Travelers are urged to slow down and be prepared to stop in the area where crews are working.
The highway segments scheduled for this preventative maintenance are:
• Highway 7 from Montevideo to Highway 71
• Highway 19 from the South Dakota state line to Fairfax
• Highway 67 from Granite Falls to Highway 75
• Highway 71 north of Morton
• Highway 212 east of Glencoe
Once work is completed on one segment of a roadway, crews will move to the next section.
