STARBUCK -- Dale Byron Anderson, 83, of Starbuck and Alexandria, died Wednesday at his home in Alexandria.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. There will be a private burial. Military rites will be provided by the Starbuck VFW.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Starbuck Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

He was born July 8, 1923, in Farwell to A.P. and Alma (Wallen) Anderson. He graduated from Alexandria High School and attended Concordia College in Moorhead. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the Medical Corps at Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver. He was a member of an Army band. He was later stationed overseas in Saipan, Enivetok, Okinawa, and Ie Shima. He received a degree in music from St. Olaf College and later received a degree in piano technology from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He moved to Alexandria and began working as a salesman and piano technician at Carlson Music Center in 1951.
He married Shirley Selland on March 24, 1956, in Minneapolis. They purchased the Starbuck Dairy Queen in 1956 and celebrated their 50th year of operation in 2006.
He is survived by his wife; son: Todd (and Parvin) Anderson of Starbuck; and one granddaughter.
