PAYNESVILLE -- Dale E. Liestman, 83, of Paynesville died Thursday at Birchwood Hospice in Hutchinson.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Burial with military honors will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.

He was born April 4, 1924, in Paynesville Township, Stearns County, to Herman and Emma (Schultz) Liestman. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 in England.
He married Marion Johnson on April 16, 1946, in Belgrade. In 1952, they moved to Watertown where he worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation from 1952 until his retirement in 1984. They moved to Paynesville in 1998.
He served as a Watertown city councilman for four years and as a mayor for six years. He played for the Crow River Baseball League for 26 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville and Paynesville American Legion Post 271.
He is survived by his wife; daughter: Brenda (and Charles) Colegrove of Armstrong, Iowa; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister: Nolene Stanger of Paynesville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
