LITCHFIELD -- Dale Joseph McGinty, 77, of Litchfield, died Sept. 25 at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
The service was Saturday at St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Litchfield. Arrangements were with Hantge Funeral Chapel, Darwin.
He was born March 4, 1929, in Minneapolis to Charles and Vernetta (Grow) McGinty.
He worked as a diesel mechanic and in the purchasing department of Werner Transportation, until he retired in 1992.
He attended St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Litchfield and was a member of the Litchfield Knights of Columbus and Litchfield Eagles Club 3424.

He is survived by his children: Steven McGinty of St. Augustine, Fla., Sandra (and Mark) Wegge of Eagan, Thomas McGinty and Lawrence McGinty, both of Maple Grove, Laura (and Gray) Gold of Baltimore, Kathryn (and Thomas) Osteraas of St. Paul, Christopher (and Paula) McGinty of Minneapolis, and Timothy (and Vicki) McGinty of Shakopee; six grandchildren; brothers: John (and Vi) McGinty of Richfield, James (and Lila) McGinty of Richfield, and Patrick (and Patti) McGinty of St. Louis Park; and special friend: Margaret Huhn of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
