MORRIS -- Darlene Carol Nelson, 87, of Crosby, formerly of Morris, died Saturday at Cuyunga Regional Care Center in Crosby.
The service will be at 1 p.m. today at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born June 17, 1919, to Carl and Agnes (Quam) Dolva. She graduated from Morris High School in 1937 and graduated from nursing school at St. Lukes Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. She entered the Army in 1944 and served as a nurse in Hawaii.

She married Alvin H. Nelson on July 4, 1946. She worked as a nurse at the Stevens County Hospital and Morris Clinic for 25 years.
She was a life member of the VFW, ladies auxiliary and American Legion and was active with the American Cancer Society and American Red Cross.
She is survived by her children: Jim (and Linda) Nelson of Esko, Kerry (and Gary) Turck of Roy, Utah, Laurie (and Rod) Ogard of Deerwood; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
