WILLMAR -- Darlene Verna Heuring, 77, of Willmar died Sunday at her home.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 7 p.m., at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Rice Hospice.

She was born Aug. 13, 1930, in Elk River to Everett and Verna (Millhouse) Specht. She grew up in Elk River and graduated from Elk River High School.

She married Owen Heuring on June 27, 1950. They lived in Herman, Norcross, Hancock, Johnson, N.D., Geneseo and Graceville. In 1964, they moved to Morris, where she operated a hostess welcoming service and was employed by the Montgomery Ward Co. and later at J.C. Penney Co. In 1984, they moved to Willmar.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was in various churchwomen's activities. She was also a member of the Rice Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband; one son: Gregory (and Jodie) Heuring of Benson; two daughters: Nancy Boehmer of Shakopee and Peggy (and Bob) Lehman of Manassas, Va.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother: Dale (and Linda) Specht of Isle.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Cheryl Heuring.
