WILLMAR -- Darrell E. Foote, 83, of Willmar, formerly of Kerkhoven, died Friday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven. Military honors will be provided by Willmar American Legion Post 167.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was born June 28, 1922, in Kerkhoven to Jay and Lola (Chandler) Foote. He grew up in the Kerkhoven community and graduated from Kerkhoven High School in 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Jouett.
He married Ruby I. Olson on Dec. 13, 1947. They lived in Kerkhoven and he worked for his father at Westgard and Foote Chevy garage. He started working as a mechanic at Haug Implement in the early 1960s and retired in 1982 due to ill health. They moved to Willmar in 1973.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post 167.
He is survived by his wife; children: Douglas (and Mari Jo) Foote of Browerville, Darlene Reichenberger of Lakeville, DeWitt (and Patricia) Foote of Willmar; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son: Dennis; and two brothers.
