GLENWOOD -- David Floen, 93, of Glenwood died Saturday at the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Lutheran Church in Glenwood. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Chapel at the Glenwood Retirement Village, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

He was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Vining to Martin and Gunda (Moen) Floen. He attended school in Vining through the sixth grade. He worked for various farmers.
He married Julia Holum in August of 1935. They worked for farmers during the Depression. They starting farming on their own in 1937 and farmed for 19 years. He started and operated a service station and auto repair for 14 years and then operated an auto repair shop for four years. He sold the repair business to his son, Laverne, and then sold real estate. He retired when he was 69. They moved to Parkview Court in 2004 and to Glenwood Retirement Home in 2005.
He was a member of the Rotary, served on the Glenwood City Council, sang with The Young At Heart, and served as a deacon and usher at Glenwood Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; children: Dale (and Andre) of Pinehaven, Wyo., Laverne (and Karen) of Glenwood, Jeanette (and Ronald) Stoen of Lowry; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and siblings: Gyda Quam of Fergus Falls, Naomie Johnson of Fergus Falls and Eugene of Forreston, Ill.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
