BIRD ISLAND -- Dawn Annette Mitchell, 47, formerly of Bird Island, died Thursday at her home in Litchfield due to complications from diabetes.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1960, in Olivia to Leo and Jeanette (Dolezal) Mitchell. She graduated form the Bird Island-Lake Lillian High School in 1978. She attended cosmetology school in St. Cloud.
She married Richard Dahl in 1979. They resided in the Blomkest area for a short time. She lived for several years in Willmar before moving to Northern Texas in the early 1990's. She recently returned to the Litchfield area to be closer to her family.

She held several different professions, most recently as a senior caregiver.
She is survived by her son: Eric; mother: Jeanette (and Richard) Matteson; brothers and sisters: Athena (and Joe) Jungers of Bird Island, Michelle (and Dave) Denman of Darwin, Twyla Mitchell of Olivia, Jason (and Julie) Mitchell of Olivia, Mary Nestande of New London, Cameron (and Suzanna) Mitchell of Darwin, Tammy Olsen of Willmar, Stace (and Carolyn) Mitchell of Swift Falls, Jon (and Diane) Mitchell of Bird Island and long-time friend Dean Anderson of Blomkest.
She was proceeded in death by her father and maternal grandparents Frank and Lucy Dolezal.
