WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff is asking anyone working or traveling in the rural areas of the county to be watchful for suspicious behavior after a recent string of daytime burglaries.
The burglaries are under investigation, according to Sheriff Dan Hartog. The crimes have typically been committed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays both southwest and northwest of Willmar.
Items taken during the burglaries include electronics, jewelry and cash. Investigators believe the suspects may be approaching residences and if contact is made after knocking on the door, the suspects state they are lost or are looking for someone as a way to cover their real intent.
Anyone who has contact with persons on their property who have an odd cover story should contact the sherrif's office at 320-214-6700, ext. 3315.
