Dean B. Thorsness Oct. 3, 1942 - July 7, 2008

ST. ALBANS, W. Va. -- Dean Bruce Thorsness, 65, of St. Albans, W. Va., died Monday at Faith Works Personal Care Home in St. Albans, following a battle with Pick's disease, a severe form of dementia.

ST. ALBANS, W. Va. -- Dean Bruce Thorsness, 65, of St. Albans, W. Va., died Monday at Faith Works Personal Care Home in St. Albans, following a battle with Pick's disease, a severe form of dementia.

The service will be at 11 a.m. today at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home in St. Albans. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans.

Memorials are preferred to Faith Works Personal Care Facility in St. Albans.

He was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Willmar to Lloyd and Arlice Thorsness. He graduated in 1960 from Willmar High School.

He married Margaret Mae in July 1968. He served in the Army National Guard after serving in active and reserve duty for over 30 years. He is a veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of the Gateway Church of Christ in St. Albans.

He is survived by his wife; children: Kristy (and Russell) James of St. Albans, and Melody (and Michael) Duke of Winfield, W. Va.; sisters: Carol Hayenga of Fargo, N.D., Janice (and Michael) Schall of Kansas City, Kan., and Lynn (and Mitchell) Nelson of Willmar; and three grandchildren.
