MADISON -- Dennis Emil Odden, 73, of Miltona, formerly of Madison, died Saturday in Minneapolis.
The service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon today at Zahrbock Funeral Home in Madison. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and will continue before services Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Breckenridge to Emil and Dagney (Elnes) Odden. He attended rural school in McLeod, N.D. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp on Sept. 16, 1952, and fought in the Korean Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Purple Heart Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1955.

He married Beth Undlin on July 24, 1954, in Madison. They lived in Santa Ana, Calif., and then returned to Madison. He owned and operated Odden and Zimbelman TV & Appliance. He retired in 1984. They moved to Lake Miltona and he worked as a salesman at Stub's Marine in Alexandria.
He was a member of the Madison City Council, Chamber of Commerce, the fair board, was chairman of the Madison Lutheran Home Board of Directors and was a member of VFW, American Legion, and Kiwanis.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; four children, Kathy (and Brent) Powers of Dawson, Judy (and David) Kriese of Madison, Rick (and Lynn) Odden of Madison and Melissa (and Tim) Swenson of Frazee; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister: Dorothy Odden of Shawano, Wis.
