Detour no more as County Road 5 roundabout opens in Willmar

WILLMAR — The new roundabout on Kandiyohi County Road 5 in Willmar south of the U.S. Highway 12 intersection opened to drivers Wednesday evening.

The new single-lane roundabout will eventually be at the intersection of County Road 5 and the realigned Highway 12 as part of the overall Willmar Rail Connector and Industrial Access Project, or Willmar Wye.

The roundabout will be connected to the new Highway 12 in 2020.
