WILLMAR -- A detour is scheduled to go into effect Tuesday on Kandiyohi County Road 10 east of Green Lake.

The detour will affect approximately four miles of highway, between Kandiyohi County Roads 2 and 4.

Traffic will be rerouted to Highway 28, north of Diamond Lake; Highway 98 south of Calhoun Lake; and County Highway 4.

The road, which is a state-aid highway, will be undergoing reconstruction for the next month. Crews will remove the paving and then grade the roadbed. Weather permitting, this phase of construction will be mostly completed within four weeks.

The second phase of construction will begin once the first phase is complete. It will involve the final two miles of County Highway 10, from Indian Beach Road on the southeast side of Green Lake to County Road 4.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November.

Motorists are reminded to slow down for their safety and the safety of road construction workers.

Duininck Brothers Inc. of Prinsburg is the prime contractor. Minnerath Construction is the grading contractor.
