A 47-year-old Detroit Lakes man was killed Wednesday night after being thrown from his motorcycle on Interstate-29 near Watertown, S.D.
Ricardo Juan Harvey was driving south when the motorcycle's rear tire blew out just before 7:30 p.m., according to a news release.
Harvey lost control and the motorcycle and its trailer became jack-knifed.
Harvey and his 53-year-old wife Susan were ejected, according to the release.
Harvey was not wearing a helmet but his wife was.

They were both taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, where Harvey died.
Susan Harvey's injuries were deemed non-life threatening, according to the release.
