RAYMOND -- Dick G. Marcus, 88, of rural Raymond died Thursday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Burial will be at Holland Township Cemetery in rural Prinsburg. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 167 of Willmar.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to the First Christian Reformed Church radio broadcast.

He was born July 7, 1918, on the family farm near Prinsburg to Garriet and Anna (Hoffman) Marcus. He attended District 101 School in rural Prinsburg through the eighth grade. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps in Europe during World War II.

He married Grace Fokken in 1946. He worked as a farmer and mechanic and in on-road construction. He started Marcus Building Movers in 1975.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg and American Legion Post 167 in Willmar.

He is survived by his wife; children: Jean (and LeRoy) Sordahl of New London, Garvin (and Kathy) Marcus of Raymond, Esther (and Richard) Halterman of Montevideo, Marlin (and Anna) Marcus of Raymond, Jerry (and Carol) Marcus of Roseland, Paul (and Christine) Marcus of Willmar, Delmar Marcus of Willmar; 15 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and his siblings: William (and Elaine) Marcus of Raymond, Francis (and Eleanor) Marcus of Willmar, Calvin (and Mavis) Marcus of Prinsburg, Gerald (and Kathy) Marcus of Willmar, Annie Brouwer of Buffalo, Selma (and Chuck) Hubers of Willmar, Josie (and Stanley) Swart of Prinsburg and Eleanor Veurink of Pease.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one stepgrandson.
