WILLMAR -- Long-time director Toni Braness has taken a leave from her position at Pact 4 Families Collaborative.

Braness said Thursday that she has taken a leave for health reasons. Her leave started at the end of the July and could last for up to 12 weeks under the Family Medical Leave Act.

"I'm just taking some time and exploring options," Braness said in a telephone interview Thursday afternoon.

Braness was with Pact 4 for longer than 12 years.

Debb Sheehan, a senior manager with the agency, is the interim director.

PACT 4 is a family services and children's mental health agency serving Kandiyohi, Meeker, Renville, and Yellow Medicine counties and the Upper Sioux Community.

The Collaborative is an organization of more than 100 county social service, public health, and corrections agencies; school districts; mental health providers; and other agencies.

Questions about Braness' leaving were referred to the organization's attorney, Tom Kramer of Granite Falls. Kramer said he couldn't comment on the executive change now, but more information may be available later.
