n Rosa Isla Cordoza, 34, of Willmar, made a court appearance Thursday on two felony charges of check forgery.
Unconditional bail was set at $10,000. Conditional release was allowed on her personal recognizance, provided she have no contact with two men victimized by the crime.
According to the complaint, two Clara City men reported a check forgery to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office on Oct. 18. Three checks from a farm account were missing. The men provided affidavits that a total $3,200 had been swindled with the checks. The men suspected the girlfriend of a former farm employee had taken the checks while retrieving the employee's belongings.
Police used bank records and surveillance video from a Willmar bank to identify Cordoza and the man, who is wanted in Kandiyohi and Steele counties, as the individuals who deposited $1,700 from two checks into an account and cashed the third check for $1,500 in early October. Police also used the surveillance video to identify Rosa's vehicle, which was used in the drive-through window for one of the transactions. Her ownership of the vehicle was verified against Department of Vehicle Services records.
Cordoza's next appearance is Feb. 19.

- Jeremy Justin McKenna, 29, of Willmar, was arraigned Friday on a felony charge of violating an order for protection.
Unconditional bail was set at $75,000 with conditional bail at $6,000 cash only. Conditions include that he not have contact with a Willmar woman, be excluded from her home and possess no firearms.
According to the complaint, the woman filed for and received an order for protection against McKenna on Jan. 18. The order was to be in effect for three months and prohibited him from coming to her home or within a one-block radius.
On Feb. 7, police were called to her home after the woman's relative reported that he was at the house. McKenna was arrested, but told officers that he had not violated the order because he could come to the home to pick up his possessions while the woman was not there. However, that was not included in the court order granting the order.
McKenna's next court appearance is Feb. 19.
