Guadalupe Matias Ramos, 19, of Olivia, pleaded guilty to a charge of fifth degree possession of a controlled substance on Tuesday in district court in Willmar.

A charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The court ordered Ramos released on his own recognizance and set sentencing for March 24.

The complaint charges that Ramos was at the boat landing on the Kandiyohi County fairgrounds on August 9 when two reserve officers approached. One individual fled and Ramos and a juvenile walked towards the officers. The officers saw them drop some items.

The officers recovered a pill bottle containing Tylenol III with codeine, a schedule III substance, and a small baggie with what appeared to be marijuana in the area where they saw the defendant drop something, according to the complaint. They recovered a pill bottle with Darvocet, a schedule IV substance, believed to have been dropped by the juvenile suspect, the complaint alleges.
