n Hadrian Franco, 30, of Willmar, was sentenced April 22 to 13 months in prison on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer.
He was given credit for 146 days already served. The sentence, handed down by Judge Donald M. Spilseth, was executed at Franco's request.
Franco had received a stayed sentence on the charge in March 2007. The charge, along with a fifth-degree assault charge, was filed after employees of the 19th Avenue Grill and Lounge asked Franco to leave after he and another man got into an argument on Oct. 21, 2006. A Willmar Police officer in plain clothes showed Franco his badge and attempted to usher Franco from the building. When Franco neared the door he turned and punched the officer in the head and then attempted to grab the officer's throat.
n Charges have been dismissed against Steven Theodore Rummens, 26, after a judge ruled there was insufficient evidence for probable cause.
Rummens, no known address, had faced three felony charges for failing to follow predatory offender registration requirements.

According to the complaint, a Willmar Police officer was on the state's Web site that manages predatory offender information on Feb. 29 and saw an entry that listed Rummens as noncompliant with the requirements. The same officer had contacted Rummens on Jan. 1 at the James House in Willmar, where he was living, to verify his registration.
Staff at the James House told police that Rummens had been asked to leave the program on Jan. 1 because he wasn't following the rules and had taken a weekend pass without permission.
