- Sylvia Wodash, 51, of Willmar, made her first appearance Tuesday on a first-degree drug conspiracy charge for selling 10 or more grams of cocaine, methamphetamine or heroin and a fifth-degree drug possession charge.
Unconditional bail was set at $100,000. Conditional bail was allowed for $6,000 cash. Her next appearance is Feb. 10.
According to the complaint, CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents were working an ongoing investigation regarding the sale of large quantities of meth in the Willmar area. A confidential reliable informant arranged the sale of one-half pound of meth to the informant from two St. Paul women. The deal was to be completed in Waite Park.
The informant bought 8.5 ounces of meth for $5,000 on Friday. The same day, agents executed a search warrant on Wodash's home and found less than 3 grams of cocaine in a purse containing her ID and other personal information. A child in the home told investigators that Wodash has had the child hide cocaine under her mattress. Wodash was arrested, and claimed she had nothing to do with any type of drugs.
- Steven Jon Lynn Horton, 18, of Sunburg, was sentenced Monday to 121 days at Prairie Lakes Youth Programs, probation until his 21st birthday and 100 hours of community service on a felony charge of aiding an offender to avoid arrest.

He was given credit for 121 days already served and ordered to get a full-time job and his GED. The case was transferred from Stearns County.
According to the petition, the Belgrade Fire Department put out a vehicle fire at the Cenex station in town around 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 31, 2007. After the fire was out, it was discovered that all four tires were slashed and the interior of the cab of the pickup was heavily damaged.
The owner of the vehicle was contacted and told officers the tires were slashed on the vehicle in Spicer and that he had it towed to Belgrade to be repaired. Investigators talked to a man who said he and a friend had slashed the tires when they couldn't get the stereo out of the vehicle. He said they followed the pickup to Belgrade and torched it.
On Dec. 10, Horton denied any involvement when questioned by investigators. The next day, the investigator received a call from Horton advising him that he was involved, that he was with the man that night. He said the man made several attempts to break into the vehicle, followed it as it was towed, attempted to break in again, broke the window with a pipe, and then threw a burning can of lighter fluid into the vehicle. The total loss was estimated at $10,483.
