MORRIS -- Don Clare Esterling of Morris, 88, died Thursday at the West Wind.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Apostolic Christian Church, rural Morris. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to service Monday at the church.
He was born July 12, 1920, in Fairfax, S.D., to August and Alice (Fitzgerald) Esterling. They moved to Hancock in 1927, where he grew up, attended school, and graduated in 1938. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II. He returned to Hancock and worked at Hancock Creamery.
He married Josie Schmidgall on May 1, 1947. They lived in Plainview, Springfield, Morgan, Red Lake Falls, Clarkfield and finally in Minnetonka. He was employed by Minnetonka School District the last 20 years of his employment. After retiring, they lived in Osakis, Glenwood and Hancock. Then they moved to Morris. They wintered in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a resident of the West Wind Village in Morris.

He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Morris. He volunteered at the Salvation Army and Glenwood Good Samaritan Center.
He is survived by his wife; children: Bruce (and Judy) Esterling of Cedar, Tim (and Jeanne) Esterling of Morris, Donna (and Doug) Ross of Houston, Susan Esterling of Palm Springs, Calif., and Nancy Tuggle of Palm Springs, Calif.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
