BUFFALO LAKE -- Donald Elmer Koenig, 73, of Buffalo Lake died Wednesday at Hutchinson Community Hospital.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. Burial will be at Zion Evangelical Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
He was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Grafton Township, Sibley County, to Henry and Grace (Burgstahler) Koenig. He graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1949.

He married Connie Hendrickson on June 17, 1953. He was employed as a field representative at Pillsbury Green Giant for over 30 years and also farmed. He retired and worked as an inspector for Buffalo Lake-New Auburn Insurance Company. He drove the van for Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center for several years.
He sang with quartets and the church choir and bowled on a couples' league for over 20 years. He served as a trustee at his church and on the cemetery board. He served as president of the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center and was treasurer of Friends and Relatives Enabling the Elderly at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
He is survived by his wife; children: Vicki (and Rick) Linder of Hutchinson, Brian (and Marlys) Koenig of Hastings, Jayne (and Don) Ackman of Grove City; five grandchildren; and one brother: Robert Koenig of Hector.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
