LITCHFIELD -- Donald Jesse Moen, 77, of Litchfield died Wednesday at his home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ostmark Lutheran Church in rural Watkins. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Litchfield Nelsan-Horton American Legion Post 104 and Kingston Johnson-Kelly American Legion Post 483.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
He was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Benson County, N.D., to Jesse and Clara (Peterson) Moen. He attended School District 38 in Acton Township and graduated from Grove City High School in 1947. He served as a sergeant with the 15th U.S. Infantry in the Korean War and was a member of the Litchfield National Guard.

He married Geraldine Erickson on Sept. 22, 1956. They lived in Litchfield and then moved to a farm in rural Atwater. They moved to rural Forest City in 1961 and were dairy farmers for 28 years. They retired in 1989 and moved to Litchfield.
He was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and 4-H. He served on the Meeker County Fair Board, the DHIA Board, the ASCS board, the rural school board, and the Ostmark Lutheran Church Board. He volunteered at the Forest City Stockade, driving for senior dining, and the Meeker County Council on Aging.
He is survived by his wife; children: James (and Judy) Moen, Judy (and Mark) Hulterstrum, Gary (and Teresa) Moen, all of Litchfield; three grandchildren; and one sister: Stella Paulson of Grove City.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two brothers, one in infancy.
