MILAN -- Donald Orrin Peterson, 81, of rural Milan died Sunday at his home.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Watson Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be in the afternoon and evening Thursday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
He was born May 23, 1926, in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, to Andrew and Helma (Teigen) Peterson. He graduated from Milan High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Alta Mae Nelson on April 2, 1950, in San Diego, Calif. They farmed near Milan. He retired in the early 1990s.
He was a member of the Watson Lutheran Church and of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American Legion post in Milan, the Eagle's Club in Willmar, the Farmer's Union, Pheasants Forever, and the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter: Ruth Ann (and Jerry) Lee of Watson; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
