GLENWOOD -- Donald Richard Warfield, 84, of Glenwood died Tuesday at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
The service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Lutheran Church in Glenwood. Burial will be at Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Glenwood to William and Lydia (Bucholz) Warfield. He was raised and attended school in Glenwood. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Lexington when it was commissioned.
He married Marilyn Holden on April 9, 1948, in Lowry. They lived in Glenwood where he worked for Culligan Water Service for more than 30 years.

He volunteered for Boy Scouts in the 1960s.
He is survived by his children: Thomas (and Gail) of Glenwood and William (and Beth) of Zumbro Falls, Diane (and Ken) Leo of Watkins and Kathi Paulson of Litchfield; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: Elaine Martin of Coon Rapids and George (and Carol) of Excelsior.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996; a son: Bruce Warfield; a grandson; and five siblings.
