BOYD -- Donna Marie Bickel, 63, of Elkton, Mich., formerly of Boyd, died Nov. 14 at her home under hospice care.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Omro Township, rural Boyd. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield.
She was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Clarkfield to Arnold and Edna (Stanke) Steinke. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1961. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm in 1965. She taught at St. John's Lutheran School in Alma City from 1965 to 1967, when she moved to South Haven, Mich., and taught at St. Paul's Lutheran School.

She married Elton Bickel on July 12, 1969, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County. They moved to Toledo, Ohio. She taught at Zion Lutheran School in Toledo and later at St. Stephen's School in Adrian. They moved to Elkton, Mich., in 1997, and she was a substitute teacher for area Lutheran elementary schools and later retired.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkton, the Women of Trinity, helped with Sunday School and vacation Bible school, was a Lutheran Girl Pioneer Leader and played the organ for more than 40 years. She was also a member and treasurer of the Elkton Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband; and three brothers: Gary (and Pat) Steinke of Boyd, Roger (and Sue) Steinke of Springfield, and Loren (and Sue) Steinke of Shakopee.
