MINNEAPOLIS -- Dorothy C. Mertens, 90, of Richfield, formerly of Holloway, died Saturday in Edina.
The service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Richfield Lutheran Church, Nicollet Avenue at 60th Street, in Richfield. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., Richfield, and at the church Wednesday for one hour before the service.
Memorials are preferred to Fairview Home Care and Hospice.

She was born Nov. 1, 1916, in Holloway to Ben and Lena Holzheimer and graduated from Appleton High School. She then moved to Minneapolis to attend secretarial school. She worked at Gopher Knitting Works and the Bureau of Engraving, then held the position of church secretary at Richfield Lutheran Church for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Mertens (and Ken Kapsner); a sister, Edna Larson; and brother, Roy (and Rhoda) Holzheimer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 52 years, William Mertens.
