STARBUCK -- Dorothy Emily Haaland, 84, of Starbuck, formerly of Clarkfield, died Sunday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Clarkfield Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield.

She was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Wilhelm and Lydia Hartfiel. She attended District 49 country school and graduated from Central High School in Montevideo in 1938. She attended teacher training at Windom Junior College in Montevideo and later attended summer school at St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught country school in District 49.
She married Erling Haaland on Dec. 30, 1942, in Tyro Township. They lived and farmed near Clarkfield until 1979, when they moved to a home on Lake Minnewaska. She was a homemaker. They moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck this year.
She was a member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck and served on the church council and was active in circle and FLCW.
She is survived by her husband; children: Earl Haaland (and Karen McKinley) of Ft. Myers, Fla., Daniel (and Carol) Haaland of Gary, S.D., Julie (and David) Drommerhausen of Albert Lea; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law: Marilyn Haaland; and two brothers.
