SPICER -- Dorothy Vernette O'Brien, 72, of Spicer died Tuesday at her home in Spicer.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Willmar Assembly of God. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 prayer service, at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

She was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Montevideo to Robert and Alice (Ahlbrecht) Kalberg. She grew up in Montevideo and graduated in 1952 from Montevideo High School. She graduated in 1955 from the Abbott Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis.
She married George O'Brien in 1957. They lived in Minneapolis, Cross Lake, Shakopee, Buffalo and Spicer, and she worked as a nurse all that time. She retired from Rice Memorial Hospital in 1999.
She was active in church. She was a leader in women's Bible study, Women's Aglow and Cursillo. She was also active in her husband's work as a pastor and counselor.
She is survived by her husband; sons: Michael (and Annette) O'Brien of Willmar and Bradley (and Jill) O'Brien of Alexandria; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory, in 1994; and one sister.
