SPICER -- Douglas Earl McRoberts, 65, of Spicer died Wednesday at his home.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Wis. A private burial will be held in the spring.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

He was born on April 10, 1942, in Red Wing to William and Jenny McRoberts. He grew up in Hager City, Wis. He graduated from high school in Ellsworth, Wis., in 1961.

He married Marlys Steffenhagen on Oct. 5, 1963. He worked construction for 22 years and was a supervisor for Dayco. He retired in 2005.

He is survived by daughters: Diane Kinneman of North Glen, Colo., Annette (and Greg Palmer) Gorman of Grove City, and Melissa (and Steve) Uchytil of Atwater; sons: Wayne (and Michelle) McRoberts of Litchfield and Eric McRoberts of Eau Galle, Wis.; and seven grandchildren; a sister: Marcene (and Bud) Boldt of Redwing; and a brother: Bob (and Midge) McRoberts of Hager City, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother.
