MORRIS -- Duane Allen Solvie, 71, of Morris died Friday at his home after a brief struggle with cancer.
The service will be at 11 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Burial will be at a later date at Summit Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Arrangements are by Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris.

He was born Dec. 5, 1935, in New Prairie Township, Pope County, to Raymond and Marion (Halverson) Solvie. He grew up in the Cyrus area. He graduated from Cyrus High School in 1953. He attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.
He married Barbara Jo Fox on Feb. 15, 1958, in Morris. They lived in Morris, where he farmed. He retired in the late 1980s. He then worked for the Stevens County Highway Department for 10 years. He also drove truck part-time for Westmor Industries in Morris and helped out at Engebretson Sanitary Disposal. They wintered in Arizona.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris, the Shriners, Morris Jaycees and the Eagles.
He is survived by his wife; three children: Jean (and John) Schultz of Morris, John Solvie of Mesa, Ariz., and Cathy Solvie (and Rob Daerda) of Upsala; grandchildren; and one sister: Beverly (and Pete) Reque of Alexandria.
