Duane K. 'Buster' Larson

WILLMAR -- Duane Kenneth "Buster" Larson, 81, of Willmar died Tuesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 167 and VFW Post 1639.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

He was born Aug. 7, 1924, in Willmar to Clarence and Mildred (Leedahl) Larson. He grew up and attended school in Willmar. He worked various jobs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 during World War II in the European Campaign. He returned to Willmar.
He married T. Harriet Anderson in Willmar. They lived in Willmar. He drove truck for Christman Sausage, Trinity Steel and Willmar Ready Mix. Harriet died in 1991. He drove bus for Peterson Bus Service and retired at age 80.
He was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar, American Legion Post 167 and VFW Post 1639.
He is survived by his children: Doug (and Beth) Larson of Elk River, Bonnie (and John) Prairie of Willmar; two grandchildren; three great-grandsons; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and his siblings: Carole Yanacheak of Willmar, Betty (and Zeke) Lavespere of Boosier City, La., and Richard (and Linda) Larson of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.
