WILLMAR -- Joel Dudgeon, 41, won his second Memorial/Law Day 5k on Saturday morning and Sarah Willis won her first.

Willis, 21, running in her home town, led 73 females in a total field of 163 runners in a time of 21:35, 19th overall. The three-sport athlete graduates this week from Gustavus Adolphus.

Dudgeon finished the 3.1-mile run from the Flags of Honor through Robbins Island and along the lake patch and back in 17:39. Dudgeon, a Wabasso teacher who summers on nearby Norway Lake, also won in 2005.

The field was eight less than last year's record field of 171. Runner-up Jeff Yurek, a Silver Lake native, finished 48 seconds off the wining pace.
