COON RAPIDS -- Edith M. Schroer, 77, of Coon Rapids died Sunday.
The service will be at 11 a.m. today at Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids. Burial will be at Morningside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Arrangements are by the Gearhart Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. Memorials are preferred to the heart, cancer or Alzheimer's funds.
She was born July 20, 1931, rural Blomkest to Fred Young and Leona Lippert. Leona died in 1935. Edith and her sister lived with their grandparents, Joe and Anna Lippert. Then she lived with her aunt and uncle, Esther and Ted Kvernes. She attended country school 119, and graduated from Danube High School in 1949.
She married William Schroer on July 26, 1949. They lived in Danube and Renville. Then they lived on a farm north of Danube, south of LeSueur, and then in Coon Rapids. William left in 1969. She held many jobs to support her family. In 1978, she began working at Honeywell. She medically retired in 1985. She moved to Renville in 1990 and returned to Coon Rapids in 1999.

She is survived by her children: Galen of Coon Rapids, Patricia (and Tim) Rygg of Austin, Texas, Wayne (and Shelly) of Blaine, Jacquelyn (and Jim) Nannenga of Spiritwood, N.D., Mark (and Genie) of Elk River, Joan (and Bob) Montague of Coon Rapids, Jean (and Richard) Andersen of Blaine, Philip (and Kandy) of Coon Rapids, and Colleen (and Karl) Gavin of Blaine; daughter-in-law: Jane; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Margaret Hildenbrand and Barb (and Dick) Woltjer.
She was preceded in death by a son: Russell; and former husbands: William Schroer and Fred Schack.
