Willmar City Council faces a decision Monday on an agreement between the city and developer Duininck Bros. Inc. of Prinsburg concerning the proprosed Water View Business Park.

The proposed agreement specifies the city's and Duininck's obligations related to the business development in southeast Willmar.

The council should approve this agreement which will enable work to begin on the new development.

The Water View Business Park is a major project for the city of Willmar. The development will provide a connection between 19th Avenue Southeast and 28th Avenue Southeast and will help out the Grass Lake project with storm water holding ponds.

The final plat for the 113-acre business park development was approved by the city in June. The plat finalized the location of lots, streets and the holding ponds for the development.

The Water View project will have a retail impact on southeast Willmar.The first major retail project will be A Wal-Mart Supercenter on a 25-acre parcel located just east of the current Kandi Entertainment Center.

A significant portion of the overall business park remains available for future business.

Water View Business Park has come a long way since its conception. The council should approve this final development agreement between the city and Duininck Bros.
