As an American soldier serving in Iraq, Russell Newville faces danger every day. Yet every day he wonders where his son, Daniel Newville, is.

Daniel has been missing since he was last seen in the early morning hours of Aug. 1, 2002 leaving a party in New London.

A resolution to Daniel's disappearance has not been for lack of action by his father and family, or the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department.

The case of Daniel remains an open missing person case with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department. The department issued a news release earlier this month on the anniversary of Daniel's disappearance.

Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog said his department continues to follow up leads, has conducted two K-9 searches, and several water and ground searches.

Hartog is calling for anyone with any information on the disappearance to contact his department.

Russell Newville is asking for help as well seeking any information on the disappearance or location of his son.

Daniel's disappearance was complicated by the delay in the start of the search. There is disagreement as to when Daniel was first reported missing, but that is not vital to this search.

Both Russell Newville and Hartog agree that the main concern is finding Daniel.

It is time to help this American soldier serving in Iraq find his son.

Anyone with any information about Daniel's disappearance or about anyone who might know something should contact the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department at 320-214-6700.
