MACCRAY to start superintendent search anew
CLARA CITY — MACCRAY School Board members will likely be starting a new search for a superintendent.
Board members decided not to offer a contract to two finalists from an initial list of 11 candidates.
Board members on Monday interviewed finalists Dennis Goodwin, superintendent, Camp Verde, Arizona, and Lynnelle Dirksen, principal, Moorhead. Following the interviews, board members decided they would not offer a contract to either candidate, according to Chairman Lane Schwitters.
Board members did not feel that either candidate offered the specific set of attributes they desired for the position, he explained.
The members will be meeting Monday and decide on how to continue the superintendent search. The chairman said all options are currently on the table. The members could reconsider the candidates in the original pool, or issue a call for new candidates.
Sherri Broderius is currently serving as interim superintendent for the district under a contract running to June. She had served as superintendent for the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Schools until her retirement in June.
