WILLMAR — Five candidates had filed to run for Willmar School Board by Monday afternoon.
Filing for office in many school districts and smaller municipalities closes at close of business Tuesday.
Candidates will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
Candidates who had filed by mid-afternoon Monday were Tammy Barnes, Justin Bos, Terry Lawler, Mike Reynolds and Scott Thaden. Barnes, Bos, Reynolds and Thaden are incumbents.
Lawler, 59, works in the financial crimes/loss mitigation department for Wells Fargo bank. She and her husband have three children and 10 grandchildren, five of whom currently attend Willmar Public Schools. They live in Willmar.
The Willmar district office is currently closed to the public. Candidates are asked to call Cindy Terrones, administrative assistant, at 320-231-8512 for filing procedures.
Because many government offices are closed to the public or have limited hours during the coronavirus pandemic, candidates may want to call ahead for information about how to file.
