WILLMAR — The Ridgewater Foundation will be offering scholarships to eligible students who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, thanks to a $37,000 grant from the Coronavirus Pandemic Relief (CPR) grant program, managed by the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission.
The Kandiyohi COVID Kickstart Scholarships will range from $1,000 to $2,000 and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The scholarship funds can be used for credit courses along with short-term Customized Training and Continuing Education courses and programs. The hope is to provide 20 to 37 scholarships. Those awarded should find out within 10 days of their application.
Eligible students must be a resident of Kandiyohi County or be employed or formerly employed by a Kandiyohi County business and demonstrate a loss of job/income due to COVID-19. Students must also be registered by Dec. 5 for Ridgewater credit courses for Spring 2021 or customized training/continuing education training in November, December or January.
