WILLMAR - Students, teachers and staff members at Lakeland Elementary School in Willmar received a warm welcome back with a cheerful sign Tuesday after nearly two months of distance learning and not seeing everyone in-person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sign, which was donated by KnockerBall Willmar, greets those who walk by the main entrance of the building.

Students and families at the elementary school have been partaking in distance learning since Nov. 30 of last year. The hybrid learning model began on Tuesday for all elementary, middle and high schools across the district which allows portions of students to learn in-person while the group distance learns on any given day; alternating days.
