LITCHFIELD -- Edythe A. Baalson, 86, of Litchfield, formerly of Brooten, died Saturday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Nursing Home in Litchfield.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten.

She was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Grove Lake to Odin and Blanche (Wenlund) Hanson. She grew up in Grove Lake and graduated from Brooten High School. She lived and worked in Minneapolis at Honeywell Industries.

She married Clifford Baalson in 1946, and they lived in Brooten. She worked at the Shelly Café, Brooten Bakery, and for a few years at Jennie-O. In recent years she moved to Augustana Homes and later to the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the church circle and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons: Clark of Brooten, Philip (and Nancy) of Litchfield; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sisters: Ramona Reese and Lucille Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
