GRANITE FALLS -- Eight people were injured in a traffic accident at the intersection of state Highway 23 and U.S. Highway 212 near Granite Falls.
Three vehicles -- a 2006 Toyota Tacoma PK, a 2005 Chevy Uplander and a 2003 Chevy Malibu -- crashed into each other at the intersection around 4:53 p.m. Saturday.
According to the State Patrol report, the Tacoma tried turning north onto Highway 23 from Highway 212 and spun out. The Uplander, heading south on Highway 23, collided with the Tacoma in the southbound lane. The Malibu was behind the Uplander and couldn't avoid rear-ending it.
The eight travelers in the three vehicles were transported by Granite Falls Ambulance to Granite Falls Municipal Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the worst being a broken arm.
The Chippewa County and Yellow Medicine County sheriff's offices and Granite Falls Fire and Rescue assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
