MONTEVIDEO -- Eldo Vernon Thompson, 66, of rural Montevideo died Monday as the result of an automobile accident.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo.
He was born April 27, 1941, in Lac qui Parle County to Elmer and Charlotte (Siverhus) Thompson. He attended rural school in District 8 and graduated in 1958 from Dawson High School.
He married Judy Halverson in 1964. He was employed by Chandler Industries. He owned and operated Precision Machining in Boyd for several years. He was also employed at Friendship Homes until an occupational injury ended his employment.
He was a member of the National Guard in Dawson for several years.

He is survived by four children: Gregory Thompson of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lorie Fitcher of Montevideo, David Thompson of Dawson, and Sherri Gonzales of Canyon Lake, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and a sister: Evon (and James) Roe of Montevideo.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
