RENVILLE -- Eleanor Minnie VonSpreecken, 86, of Renville died Sunday at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Renville. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Renville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

She was born April 14, 1920, in Renville to William and Albertina (Lentz) Roschild. The family farmed south of Renville, and she later moved to Minneapolis and worked as a waitress. She returned to Renville in 1950 to care for her mother.

She married Edwin VonSpreecken on Oct. 27, 1951, in Renville. They farmed near Renville and then moved to Gary, S.D. They later moved to Canby, where she did babysitting for families in the area. They returned to Renville in 1994, living at the RenVilla Nursing Home.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Canby, served in the Ladies Aid and was active in Bible studies. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Renville.

She is survived by her children: Donna (and Ron) Schueler of Willmar, Gale (and Lisa) VonSpreecken of Richardson, Texas; daughter-in-law: Bonnie Mills of Worthington; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Amanda Heinsohn, Hattie Anderson, Frances Westby, Marvin (and Vivian) Roschild and Maynard (and Veronica) Roschild, all of Renville.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; and one son: Larry in 1997.
