ST. MARTIN -- Elmer Arceneau, 72, of St. Martin died Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Friday, with parish prayers at 8 p.m. followed by prayers by the St. Joseph Society, Knights of Columbus, St. Martin Lions, Albany American Legion, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Parish Hall in St. Martin. Arrangements are by the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Memorials are preferred.
Elmer was born Nov. 18, 1935, in St. Martin to John and Theresa (Blonigen) Arceneau. He married Lucille Dirkes on September 5, 1960, in Albany. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 in Germany and Lebanon. They farmed North of St. Martin.
He was a member of St. Martin Parish, St. Joseph's Society, Knights of Columbus, the St. Martin Lions, the Albany American Legion, and a former member of the St. Martin baseball team.

He is survived by his wife; children, Mary (and Fred) Overman of Spicer, Doris (and Melvin) Schlangen, Alice (and Alvin) Schlangen, Jeffrey (and Sheela), Judy (and Ron) Harley, Dennis (and Diane), Brian, Glen (and Lori), Kenny, Linda (and Dale) Schroeder, Daniel, James (and Lori), Neil (and Angela); 23 grandchildren; siblings: Bernard (and JoAnn) Arceneau, Margaret Hellmann and Anna Mae Schneider.
