CLARKFIELD -- Elsie Ernestina Anderson, 95, of Montevideo, formerly of Swede Prairie Township, died Thursday at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Swede Home Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield.

She was born June 22, 1911, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Albert and Ida (Janke) Galow. She attended St. John's Parochial School.

She married Oscar Anderson on June 6, 1936. They farmed in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County. She moved to Homefront in Montevideo in 2005.

She is a member of Swede Home Lutheran Church, where she was a past president and secretary of the ladies aid, and a member of the W.M.S. Society, superintendent of the Sunday school, and also involved in the building of the new church.

She is survived by three children: Ray (and Marilyn), LaVilla (and Arlin) Jibben, Larry (and Jeannine); 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; son: Darryl; two daughters-in-law: Joann and Shirley; and two grandchildren.
