Elsworth Schwarzrock

OLIVIA -- Elsworth Schwarzrock, 83, of Bemidji, formerly of Olivia, died Saturday at his home.
The service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.

He was born Oct. 6, 1922, at Tower City, N.D., to Bernhard and Anna (Gatzke) Schwarzrock. He grew up on a farm near Bird Island, which he continued to farm after his marriage to Agatha Wendland in 1944. He also was an assessor in Melville Township. They moved to Olivia in 1977 and later moved to Bemidji to be near their son.
He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Osceola Township where he served as financial secretary and treasurer for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife; two sons: Donovan (and Laurie) of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Rodney (and Jennifer) of Bemidji; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother: Amos (and Dolores) of Gibbon; two sisters: Clara Witte of Hutchinson and Viola North of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lance; and one brother.
