WILLMAR -- Elvera Dorothy Larson, 89, of Willmar died Monday at Bethesda Heritage Center.

The service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Willmar.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

She was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Whitefield Township, Kandiyohi County, to Edward and Anna (Anderstrom) Zupke. She grew up in the Svea area and attended District 68 school.

She married Carl J. Larson on Feb. 21, 1945, in Willmar. They farmed in rural Willmar, retired in 1975, and moved into Willmar. Carl died in 2005. She moved to Bethesda Heritage in 2003.

She was a member of Assembly of God Church, had been active with ladies aid, seniors club, Prayer and Share, and adult Bible study. She served as an officer for District 109 Community Club, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her children: Larry (and Mary) Larson of Willmar, Robert (and Linda) Larson of Willmar, James (and Sharyle) Larson of Orofina, Idaho, Diane (and Bill) Schlagel of Murdock, Dennis (and Ann) Larson of Willmar, Carl Larson Jr. of Willmar, Donna (and Tim) Underland of Spicer; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Delores Gundberg of Tempe, Ariz., and Vernon Zupke of Harrisburg, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter; and seven brothers.
